In all the confusion of why the carriage was being rattled from the damaged wheel, none of the passengers had noticed the further movement on it as the young woman leapt off of it and hurried for the cover and safety of the shrubbery. As all of them filed out and Ciel made his way a short distance away, none of them even discussed it.

Little did the Earl know that as his steps slowed and his gaze wandered mindlessly over the forest scenery in front of him, that he was being scrutinized by curious eyes, someone gauging their reaction based off his appearance, since he’d yet to say anything aside from alerting his servant that he didn’t intend of moving out of eyesight of the carriage. Though they came in peace, there was no telling what dangers lay out in the forest, and Ciel was by no stretch of the imagination one built for the outdoors.

Given that, and despite that, Ciel’s hearing wasn’t so bad that he didn’t notice the twig snapping and turning to see if he could spot what had caused what he just heard. Odds are that it was just an animal, but Ciel never made assumptions about anything. Though he highly doubted he’d get any kind of coherent response, to satisfy his own somewhat suspicious curiosity, Ciel called out to the open air he was looking at.

Is someone there? If there is, there’s nothing to be concerned about, we’re arranged to be here.

The Native American raised a brow at his words. What does he mean arranged? She thought to herself. Pocahontas kept in her hidden spot, but replied to the young boy. “What do you mean arranged? Did you speak with my father?” She asked, not wanting to make an appearance yet.

She was quite curious to what the other would answer with, though she wasn’t sure if that he spoke with her father or the Englishmen on the shore. Either way she just hopes this wasn’t anything to start a war between the two.

(Ah, so there was a person in the vicinity after all…)

Hearing the voice immediately confirmed his suspicions that he was indeed not alone. Ciel’s gaze zeroed in on where he presumed the voice to be coming from, though he did not yet see a person to go along with the voice. Unsure if who he was now conversing with was keeping him in her sights (though he suspected that he was), Ciel still nodded as a beginning to his response.

I’ve come from London to oversee the production of my company’s latest expansion, we’re to build a factory in the area as part of expanding the company into the Colonies territories. I was informed to go straight into Richmond following my arrival, I was not told that I was to meet someone along the way. Who exactly is your father if I may ask and what business would he have with myself?
