Ciel was still yet to know much about this person except for the fact that she was a woman, but given his question a few seconds prior, the wait wouldn’t be much longer. The scowl was slightly surprisingly given the neutral tone of his voice, but nothing was said on it by the Earl. To the best of his knowledge no laws were being broken by the construction plans, and if any had been then measures would’ve been taken to ensure that everything to be done was within legal boundaries.
Odd, I also don’t recall being told that any people were occupying this land besides the Colonists in Virginia, but I did not see any signs of civilization in the areas I’ve been to since I made port about an hour ago. And yes, Funtom is a confectioners manufacturer, one of our primary products is children’s toys amongst other things. We’ve got several factories over in Europe and I decided it would be a worthwhile venture to see what business the new land would bring in.
Your face is a bit….displeased to hear of this. There isn’t going to be a problem I trust? I’ve not broken any laws regarding the building plans, it’s in the forest but closer to Richmond than the shore, it’s about half an hour from here by carriage I’m told.
“…So I’m believing theses Colonists never told you that my tribe also lives here did they?” Pocahontas asked fight back the urge not to lose her temper. She found it unbelievable that they gave permission for someone else to build on their land. “No you haven’t broken anything….Though the Colonists have. They promised to build any farther on my tribe’s soil and have broken it.” The ravenette explained.
Toys? The Native never really been around toys in her life perhaps and self made doll made with leftover deer hide, but her enjoyment was based around the nature around her. She only had one toy in her whole life and they usually never lasted long.
“I believe if you want to build on my tribe’s land….You should at least speak with my father about it. He owns this land. Not the colonists.” She continued her eyes narrowing slightly.
I recall being told that there were people native to these territories, but I wasn’t aware that you were this close to the original building site. I remember the fiascos that occurred when we originally came over to the States with one of our Governors, but the Queen took care of that man once he returned to England.
The look of slight confusion that passed over the older girls features at the mention of the simple word ‘toys’ surprised Ciel to a degree. For as fluent as her English was, he was surprised that she wasn’t more familiar with the term. Perhaps that could be something to explain later if he was to be having business dealings with her father like he highly suspected he would be. But if there were legal stipulations to be worked out before Ciel could give the order to begin construction, then so be it. This was why he took the time to travel all this way, to be present should any issues arise, and already one had. Ciel was no reckless businessman, he handled everything as a proper one would, and he was not going to break laws or ruin bonds between anyone here, since the plan was to keep the newest Funtom factory here indefinitely.

Would your father have any aversions to speaking with me on the matter as soon as possible? Though I’m here for an indefinite period of time to see to the initial building stages, I’d rather not see too many delays on this if at all possible, I still have responsibilities over in England as well.
