♕ || Another party that he didn’t want to go to, but Elizabeth coerced him into attending. Naturally Ciel’s attention span to all of this was minimal, really only looking up whenever his fiancee bounded over to try and pull him onto the dance floor, when an excuse was promptly made as to…
♔:A social butterfly with all the cunning of a spider, Alois thrived at events such as these. Although he’d only met Elizabeth briefly before and hadn’t spoken much with many of the other nobles, he’d quickly secured stable acquaintanceships with everyone he’d met so far. He’d quickly grown bored of the dinner party, and yet the dancing and fond chatter surrounding him certainly hadn’t dampened his mood and he was in high spirits.
He collected a quick drink from the table opposite and drew it up to his lips for a sip through gritted teeth. The taste was bitter and bubbled over his taste buds, but he swallowed all the same without flinching. He scanned the room for anyone standing alone as he was, and hoped for someone to dull his boredom. But, if anyone, he certainly hadn’t expected to see the young boy across the room.
He wasn’t sure whether to approach him or not, especially since he was convinced his mind was playing tricks on him. The resemblance was uncanny aside from the formal attire, a good clean up and the eye patch he now wore. Surely, it couldn’t be that boy? He was overwhelmed, to say the least, as he approached the young noble.

♕ || The taste was something Ciel wasn’t partial to himself, but it was something to do with his hands and to keep the notion of preoccupation about him so people would be less inclined to attempt and engage him in some conversation. It was a shoddy attempt at keeping people at bay, but it was better than simply leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest; then people would be all too suspicious that the Phantomhive Earl was as anti-social as he really was, something Ciel didn’t want people assuming.
Another bored sigh passed Ciel’s lips as another loud giggle from Elizabeth caught his ear, but he didn’t bother himself to look at what had garnered such a reaction from her; knowing his fiancee it was just another dress she was fond of or the like. He saw people move amongst themselves in his near vicinity, but it wasn’t until he someone in particular walking in his direction and staying on that path. It was what other blonde again, though too far away for now to put his finger on a particular motion, at a cursory glance he had the same look of confused curiosity that Ciel’d had not a few moments prior.
(He can’t possibly be coming to talk to me, surely he’s mistaken me for someone else and the mistake will be corrected as soon as he speaks to me…)
But then he got close enough and Ciel was able to properly see the eye color of the boy who was now no more than six feet away from him. A light blue eye color like that was uncommon to say the least, one he’d only seen once in his life before. On someone he hadn’t seen for probably two years, and certainly not in conditions like this, more like the polar opposite, during the only part of Ciel’s life that he’d rather forget.
Though Ciel being the naturally distrusting person that he was, wasn’t about to go leaping up and embracing this boy as if he were a long lost friend, that would only make him look foolish, as would mistaking the blonde in front of him for someone else if he was in fact mistaken. He’d inquire, certainly, starting with the most obvious cautionary one.
Do I know you?
